48TH EDITION OF THE VOICE OF THE MIMBARR

BROTHERHOOD OF ISLAM II

Bismillah Ar-Rahman Ar-Rahim

Last time we submitted that 'According people goodness it endears to you their minds; just as people's minds to you automatically endeared.' This is the import of the Qur'an 4:199 cited during the last episode. It offers  three main principles of life namely: forgiveness, fairness and focus without being distracted. With these, life becomes easy and better haven. This is the highest level of goodness.

In a similar vein, the noble Qur'an draws a line of demarcation between goodness and evil with a view to sound warning notice against evil in all ramifications. Allah (SWT) says: "And goodness and evil are incomparable. Repel evil with goodness such that the one with whom you bear grudge would appear a blossom friendship. And none could find understanding in this except the patients and none could find understanding in this manner except those of big portions accomplished' (Qur'an 41:34-35). This shows categorically that fairness, goodness and understanding are fucrum that pose life for a purpose.

Some criteria for better Mumin qualified are evident from the Hadith of the noble Messenger. Five main factors among others are brought to the fore for the sake of space and time constraints. These are: i. Whoever gives (unto people) for the sake of Allah alone i. e without any recourse to demand appreciation. ii. Denying others on the basis that doing that is to please Allah. iii. Loving others for the sake of Allah alone. iv. Whoever hates someone because Allah is pleased with such act and v. Whoever marries someone with the intent of pleasing Allah and for the sake of Allah. It suffices to add the completing section of the Hadith that such persons tend towards the complementing their faith.'

The above Tradition gives clear indications that a Mumin qualified - in a bid to satisfy the potential ingredients of good Muslim - should harness necessary criteria to be on good pedestal for success in life and hereafter.

This is where we shall draw the curtain on the topic of discussion. Till we meet again during the next edition, thanks for reading and remain blessed.
